When I was 15, I found out I was a Batkid. Before that, my life had been made up of one melodramatic plot after another. And of course, it was the same afterward. What can I say? I was a Batkid born with a melodrama magnet. For a while, I suspected my mom had been reading too many novels while she was pregnant with me, leaving me with every possible buff stacked from birth.
Whenever I get sad, it rains. Put on glasses and my good looks are hidden. Every time I try to run away, I trip. Every time I'm kidnapped, I end up facing a terrible choice. I hit my head and lose my memory, then get into a car accident and lose my memory again. Tie my hair up and I'm a boy; let it down and I'm a girl. When in doubt, I lose my memory. I'm always getting dragged into all kinds of bizarre misunderstandings and tangled relationships. I even wound up with a whole bunch of honorary moms and dads in Arkham. In a way, I guess I'm a Mary Sue, too.
Even so, I'm just a fragile little Batkid. Dad, you'll take good care of me, won't you?
The Batkid blinked up at her old dad.
The world's greatest detective, the melodrama plot terminator, aka Batman, silently patted her head and let out a weary sigh.
The love interest is that world's second-greatest detective, aka Red Robin.
