A cultivator who gets swindled the first time he comes down the mountain vs. a crane demon who scams him out of his money
The sacred book of Ling Shu has gone missing from Qingmen Sect on Fuling Mountain. The sect leader is furious, fearing that the world will be plunged into chaos, and sends countless disciples down the mountain to search for it.
Mu Chenrang is among them.
The trail leads him to Cangshan City.
Who could have guessed that the very first person he meets would scam him out of all his money?
Bai Hewang: "Young man, I see a bloody disaster in your future."
The onlookers are puzzled.
He's been swindled out of all his money. Isn't his heart bleeding already?
At nightfall, someone shouts, "Catch them!"
Huh?
This is completely backwards.
Well, it turns out Cangshan City is full of demons. No wonder they're trying to catch someone.
Unwilling to sleep on the street, he has no choice but to work at an inn to pay off his debt. But strange incidents keep happening in Cangshan City.
Brides keep vanishing without explanation. Two have gone missing since the day he arrived. As a Qingmen cultivator, he considers it his duty to save the world, so he takes action.
In front of the dressing mirror, he holds a phoenix hairpin and leans over to look at the young man seated before him.
Bai Hewang: "Why am I the one dressing up as the bride?"
Mu Chenrang: "Because you swindled me out of my money."
He lowers his head with a faint smile, and places the phoenix hairpin in the young man's hair.
"Let me pin up my wife's hair."
As ghost soldiers carry a coffin and red silk trails across the ground, the first blast of the suona is followed by the groom's desperate cry.
"D-demons! Someone, help!"
[Each arc tells the story of a different demon: love, hate, anger, and delusion in a world where people have lost their virtue.]
