Genius Mid Laner, Clumsy Support [Esports]

The strongest roaming player, a voice-obsessed secret flirt (top) x a beautiful, sweet-voiced genius mid laner (bottom)

Huo Xiao x Luo Shuyang

Luo Shuyang was forced by his incredible talent to play mage for three whole years. The second he ended his contract with the team, he made up his mind: he'd never play a mid-lane hero again.

Back in China, the nineteen-year-old hot-blooded Luo Shuyang believed that if he could become North America's top mid laner in three years, he could become the world's top support in another three.

First step: stream support gameplay to show the domestic teams what he could do!

“I've found a saint! Does this support care about our jungler's creeps that much? I hit one and hurt it, and he even tosses it a health pack!”

“I don't know if you're any good at support, but your WeChat step count must be insane. The map's huge, and you walked all over it in the first three minutes.”

“You're killing me. I beg you, go ruin the jungler's game instead. You last-hit all my minions...”

The jungle king wept, and the marksman king drowned his sorrows.

In a month, the dazzling Diamond player had been transformed into a Bronze III player.

The livestream chat went wild with laughter and bestowed a title on him: [LOP's Living King of Hell]

Luo Shuyang: “...” Impossible. It had to be an illusion. Talent was transferable, so there was no way North America's top mid laner couldn't handle a measly little support, right?

Huo Xiao, LOP's number-one support, never expected a little Diamond game to nearly turn into a disaster.

During the B/P phase, his teammate confidently opened his mic. “I'm a great support. Trust me!”

The young man's voice was confident and brash, like a refreshing glass of orange soda on a summer day. It made Huo Xiao feel at ease.

Huo Xiao's voice kink was struck hard. He fell for it and picked a jungler, ready for a thoroughly satisfying jungle-support roaming duo.

Once the game began, he watched the cat mage wander around the jungle like a headless fly, racking up his WeChat steps. Huo Xiao was sure this had to be some new strategy.

Three minutes in, when the mage threw a health pack at him for the third time while he was already at full health, Huo Xiao didn't question it. The little support surely had his reasons.

Their high ground was about to fall. His teammates were losing too much health in the team fight, and the support unleashed a barrage of healing as fierce as a tiger's. Every shot hit the enemy, and not a drop of healing touched their own team.

Huo Xiao: “...”

His brain finally caught up. He had just opened his mic, ready to unleash a torrent of abuse, when a pitiful voice rang in his ear. “Jungle king, can you invite me next game? I didn't do well this time. One more game, please~”

Huo Xiao agreed with a cold expression.

At the start of Season Seven of Land of Promise (LOP), the mage from the domestic powerhouse team NOK left.

In the midst of the chaos, captain Huo Xiao brought in a support player who was notorious across the internet for being terrible, and recommended him for NOK as if he were under a spell.

The coach looked at the pretty young man with his red lips and pearly teeth, then fell silent. He quietly pulled the team's steady, composed world-number-one support aside. “Xiao Huo, finding a partner is great, but you can't bring the Living King of Hell onto the team as a mascot.”

Later, the genius mid laner Yang emerged out of nowhere, and the much-maligned NOK swept to the world championship with unstoppable force. Only then did everyone realize:

The flapping of a butterfly's wings in North America would unleash a magnificent tsunami.
