Shang Wu is an ancient divine sword, carefree and unruly, with nothing in the world capable of binding him. He never expected that one day he would recognize a master, and that master would be a foolish young man who had shattered his own soul while suppressing the malevolent energy of Guixu.
Jing Yao, the God of War in the Heavenly Realm, damaged his soul while suppressing that malevolent energy. Moved by his merits, the Heavenly Dao sent his soul into three thousand small worlds to nurture and heal it. But Jing Yao's soul was incomplete, and in every life he was fated to die young as a miserable cannon-fodder character.
To help Jing Yao nurture his soul safely and recover as soon as possible, Shang Wu enters each small world and helps his master escape his cannon-fodder fate.
