To eliminate the big boss's heir, Du Shi was given a mission: break the rules and kill the little fiend before the unknown events began. He had no way to identify the target, so he could only rely on instinct.
Before everything began, gods, demons, immortals, and monsters were all sent to a space to cultivate as equals. At the time, they were all young.
"That one is Tao Ti." Du Shi sipped his tea and glanced up at a person with black hair tied high and clear orange eyes.
They all took the form of eleven- or twelve-year-old children. This was after their primordial spirits had hatched, but before they were born. Du Shi had used a back door to get in. He was an adult god, mixing in among them for the sake of justice.
After they left this place, their memories of it would gradually return as they grew to eleven or twelve. Perhaps because that was when they became aware of the world, remembering how well they'd all gotten along might make them feel some old affection and stop them from killing so readily. But in truth, they might not recognize one another when they met again. Who knew what their parents would put them through? Even looking a little different was possible. Though they might remember each other, some might never meet again in their lives, let alone rekindle their bond.
It was all a pretense. No demon would stop killing out of nostalgia for an old friendship with an immortal lord. And the Divine Emperor had always believed that demons were born evil, so he asked Du Shi to identify the one in question.
He and the Divine Emperor both believed this. To prevent a tragedy, he had to exploit a loophole in the rules and kill the demon seed. Yet as they spent time together, old grudges resurfaced. Could youthful passion overcome the hand of fate? Find out in "Li Li Sheng"!
