A virus took 80% of the world's population.
The remaining humans were transported into different instances. Everyone entered a different instance, and only the team at the top of the points leaderboard could survive.
As soon as Le Yi woke up, he heard the System calling him.
"Hello, I'm your personal System, codename W." Le Yi listened in confusion to the voice before him, though he couldn't see anyone.
"You are currently in the C-rank instance 'Stage Play.' Player, please find a team as soon as possible."
Following the System's instructions, he found one teammate after another.
The five-person team eventually reunited, cleared instance after instance, and successfully reached third place on the points leaderboard. As time passed, they arrived at the final instance.
The SSS-rank instance, "Orphanage."
"Uncover the truth inside! Claim the killer's reward!" A loudspeaker blared, then everything around them fell silent.
There were dangers everywhere. This was an SSS-rank instance, after all. How could the survival rate possibly be high?
After the tasks were assigned, Le Yi arrived at the abandoned girls' restroom. Holding the only available diagram, he compared the writing on it with the words on the wall.
They seemed different, yet somehow the same.
Written in shocking, thick strokes of blood were the words:
"Big brother, I miss you so much."
Unable to find any clues, Le Yi decided to leave the room and ask Zhang Huan to take a look.
He stood up and glanced at the mirror.
The reflection wore different clothes, its eyes twisted into a strange smile.
The mole at the corner of its eye, on the opposite side from his own, was now dripping blood, which slowly ran down to the corner of its mouth.
The "Le Yi" in the mirror licked it with a smile, then vanished once more...
