"A flower, covered in thorns, threw itself into a stray dog's arms."
His right ring finger bore a gardenia tattoo.
Her left ring finger bore a stray dog tattoo.
When their hands clasped, left in right, they once imagined they would be together forever.
Later, the stray dog grew tired of running around.
The flower, too, was ready to fade.
A short story of 10,000 words. Both leads die in this tragic ending. They are seven years apart in age.
While working on my completed manuscript, "There Are Ears in the Wall," I was drawn to the story of Hua Zhi, the tattoo artist, and Lin Ye, the younger brother, and wrote their story in one go.
Enjoy an early read. Inspiration came from the song recommended to accompany the story.
Theme: Let go of your obsessions and live freely and easily
