The Little County Magistrate

"Have you heard? The new county magistrate is only seven years old."

"Seventh rank?"

"Seven years old."

"What?!!!"

The Great Yong Kingdom was in the grip of a craze for child prodigies. After the new emperor ascended the throne, he held an additional children's examination following the special imperial exams to showcase the nation's prosperity.

Child prodigies from all over the country eagerly signed up.

Faced with Jiang Wanning, a top scorer who was only seven, the emperor, keen to nurture a rare talent, wanted him to spend a few more years studying at the Hanlin Academy. But the young top scorer volunteered to be sent out to serve as a local official.

He really didn't like studying at all! He wanted to be a county magistrate!

Being a county magistrate was so fun, so impressive, so powerful!

Take on the local gentry, rein in corrupt clerks, resolve wrongful cases, and build infrastructure!

The court officials scoffed: Let's see how this high-scoring but incompetent child manages to ruin a whole county...

Five years later, the people of Shuyang County lived in peace and contentment, its riverworks were impregnable, and its tax revenue ranked first in the country.

The court officials gaped in astonishment: "Ah! No worthy minister of old could surpass him!"
