[A charming, alluring, carefree heroine x a mature, gentle hero who fears losing her. Mutual pining, reunion after a long separation, adult romance.]
The last rays of the setting sun slant into the room, casting a dim, dappled light. In silence, Wen Qian grabs a nightdress from the bed and slips it on. Barefoot on the carpet, she lowers her head and looks at the shirtless man smoking nearby.
Her voice hoarse, she murmurs, "Gu Siheng, let's end this."
The man's hand stills around his cigarette. His gaze darkens as he says calmly, "Don't make a scene."
Just like always. He only ever thinks she's making a scene.
So Wen Qian disappears. After all, he never listens to her anyway.
She once loved someone so desperately that, in the end, she became insecure and sharp-tongued, frightening even herself.
So she ran away.
Gu Siheng is a well-known rich young man in Jincheng. He comes from a wealthy family but chose to start his own business, and he's made a success of it. Handsome, broad-shouldered and slim-waisted, he's gentle and courteous to everyone, the man of many people's dreams.
But only Wen Qian knows how awful he can be deep down.
Their story began by accident. She was greedy, thinking that if she got him, she could have his heart too.
It was a huge gamble, and Wen Qian lost everything.

Gu Siheng loves someone with sorrowful eyes. He knows she looks through him at someone else.
But Gu Siheng doesn't care. He loves her, and he wants her.
Yet jealousy is like a river without end. When it overflows, he proves himself only human.
They had passionate nights, tender mornings, and leisurely evenings.
He thought they loved each other enough, but Wen Qian ran away.
The blow hit Gu Siheng hard. At first he hated her, then he loved her even more.
One day after they reunite:
Wen Qian lies in bed and whispers to her friend, "There's definitely something wrong with Gu Siheng."
Afraid something has happened, her friend asks in alarm, "What did he do?"
Wen Qian looks around, then leans closer to her phone and whispers, "Last night, thirty minutes. You know?"
Her friend is speechless. "Wen Xiaoqian... You can't slander President Gu like that..."
Before she can finish, the call ends. A scorching hand settles on Wen Qian's waist.
She turns her head and meets a pair of eyes, smiling as if they know something she doesn't.
Wen Qian flushes crimson and tries to say something.
But all she can manage is a muffled moan.
In the end, Gu Siheng, satisfied, wraps his arms around someone who can barely keep her eyes open and murmurs, "Make another call."
Wen Qian asks, confused, "What?"
Gu Siheng's gaze instantly darkens. His hand moves over her again. Wen Qian swats it away and snaps, "You bastard!"
She doesn't manage to swat it away...
Wen Qian silently suffers, then grits her teeth and says, "I'll send a text!"
The text reads: He's very capable!
Gu Siheng, satisfied, holds her close and falls fast asleep.
Reading Guide:
1. One-on-one romance throughout. Mutual pining without saying it out loud. It really is a sweet romance, trust me!
2. Mutual pining, reunion after a long separation, adult romance. From the hero's perspective, it's a pitiful stand-in story; from the heroine's perspective, she's the one forcing herself on him.
3. Screenshot dated January 29, 2024, as proof. I'll polish the blurb before I start posting.
Theme: Love should be spoken aloud.
