Li Daobai, a medical student who had spent twenty years studying by lamplight, died suddenly on the eve of starting her job. Reborn, she landed in Yokohama in another world, with no legal identity and unable to read: a fantastic start from the start.
Fortunately, the person who brought her there had to keep her alive, so they weren't completely heartless. They even threw in seven rings and seven "wise old spirits" to go with her, all of whom had worked their way up in the Mafia in another world to become the top power in its underworld. She fit right into Yokohama's local culture.
As the saying goes, fight magic with magic. By the same logic, fight the Mafia with the Mafia. Since they're all in the same line of work, and the spirits in her rings had even helped save the world, her side was clearly better equipped.
Li Daobai's motto was, "The best thing to do with work is not do it. Next best is to have someone else do it. And if I absolutely have to do it, can it wait until tomorrow?" With powerful backers, she thought she'd finally have a chance to coast through life. But the unexpected happened, and as soon as she arrived, she picked up a black-mud bandage-wearing nutcase.
Before she could catch her breath, a detective cat, a natural airhead red-haired killer, a gravity manipulator... one kid after another came tumbling into her life. Li Daobai despairingly realized she seemed to have stumbled into an entirely new career as a babysitter.
After plenty of chaos, life finally settled into a routine, and the kids at home were all doing well. A wonderful life of lying back and counting money was within reach, when a certain scum from the Mori side next door sent her a forced job offer. The kind where refusing would make your life miserable forever.
Li Daobai, who thought she'd already endured enough to become a saint, finally snapped. She grabbed the Vongola Rings and headed straight for the Port Mafia. If you weren't going to let her live in peace, then nobody would!
That's just how precarious a former office worker's mental state can be.
After her outburst, Li Daobai was quite satisfied. She figured she'd shown what she could do, and everyone could go back to their own homes and live in peace without interfering with one another. But a certain Mori shamelessly declared that since she'd defeated him, he now belonged to her. The three-year deadline was up, and it was time to welcome their leader back to the throne.
Li Daobai: "Huh?" After half a lifetime of obeying the law, she returned to discover that Yokohama's greatest criminal organization was her own?
Is there some kind of curse on these Vongola Rings? Whether you're a good-for-nothing middle schooler or a lazy office worker, once you get them, you're destined to become Mafia?
"If my coming here can make up for even a tiny fraction of your regrets, then my journey here wasn't in vain."

1. The characters belong to the original author. Any out-of-character moments are my doing.
2. A delusional work written after the original broke me. I want to give my favorite character a happy life.
3. Not suitable for fans of the villains. I may kill off characters from the Five Executives faction.
4. Everyone's relationships are familial or platonic. No CP.
5. More to be added as I think of it.
Theme: Save the people you want to save
It looks great, come on!
