Before Fu Ruijin was found by her wealthy family, she'd led a colorful life. She worked as a black-market trader on the road to slaying dragons, on the road to rescuing princesses, and on the road to changing careers from knight to baker…
If the world were a game, her black-market trader profession would surely top the leaderboard. It's not that legitimate business isn't profitable, but swindling and cheating (not really) is simply more cost-effective.
But after too many successful deals, her regular customers were so "grateful" for her efforts that one of them sent her home in a single move (not really), helping a lost child return to her hometown.
And so she unlocked a new map: Gotham, her beautiful hometown.
Ever since arriving, her black-market business had been booming. She was building it up, making it bigger and better, and reaching new heights!
Fu Ruijin would like to say that Gotham's residents are all so talented, so charming, and so quick to pay. She absolutely loves them!
Unfortunately, just as her black-market business was starting to make a name for itself in Gotham, her adoptive family showed up. Her delicate family members clearly couldn't accept her magnificent enterprise, so she had no choice but to go underground.
She worked hard to protect her secret identity, while also keeping her easily injured, delicate father, brothers, and their whole string of friends safe.
Until one day, she discovered that the vigilantes she'd swindled were her delicate family members...
Content warnings: The timeline is chaotic. The Joker will die, but Harley Quinn won't. The heroine is chaotic neutral, but since the Batfamily keeps her in check, she'll still do some things in the gray areas, given that she's a black-market trader. Most of the time, though, she scams bad people. She won't cross her own lines. Deep down, she's a very good girl. She'll absolutely scam supervillains, and there's a fifty percent chance she'll scam superheroes.
Although it's tagged as romance, the heroine is only fifteen, so she won't be dating before adulthood. The pairing is undecided, and there may not be one in the end. We'll see.
Theme: Kindness and self-reliance.
