"Low-Marriage Life" is almost finished. The next book will be "Married Three Times." Come read it, come read it~ Add it to your favorites, add it to your favorites!
*** The pear blossom is pure and clear, untouched by rouge. One morning, it slips and falls into the mire.
On Lantern Festival night, she sneaked out of the house. She gazed in wonder at the nine-foot-tall monk, his face haggard as he performed with his staff. The staff whistled through the air, while the monk stumbled and panted. His broken wooden bowl held only two or three coins, and there were few onlookers.
She stood watching, pretty as a picture, and asked her maid, "Is performing for money really this hard?"
He heard her and answered hoarsely, "I'm sick. It's not usually like this!"
So the sheltered young lady, moved by compassion, gave him ten taels of silver.
Half a year later, her father and brothers were murdered, their entire household confiscated, and the women of the family sold by the authorities. Her mother struck her head against a memorial stele in the ancestral hall and died. She was confiscated as a slave and bought by the madam of a brothel.
That monk traveled a thousand miles to save her. He hurled down a stack of silver, smashing the sandalwood phoenix-and-luan love seat in that pleasure house to pieces. His eyes blazed. "So what if I'm a monk? A monk can buy a young lady too!"
He spent every last coin he had to buy back her delicate freedom, then rode day and night to take her to the capital for her wedding.
Under the blazing sun, he scooped up some water and secretly snapped off a lotus leaf to shade her head. "Your skin is so delicate, don't let the sun melt you. Amitabha. This humble monk has sinned by stealing."
On freezing nights, he stood guard outside a ruined temple, leaning on his staff like an arhat, while she slept peacefully by the bonfire inside. He chewed on dry flatbread to stave off hunger.
In the pouring rain, with the mountain path slick with mud, he let her hold the umbrella while he carried her through the rushing water step by step. His ears burned red as he chanted, "Amitabha. Form is emptiness."
After countless hardships, he finally brought her to the capital.
On the day of her wedding, he got dead drunk at an inn. In a haze, he saw her approaching in her wedding dress, breathtakingly beautiful. Thinking it another wild dream, his heart gave way to temptation, and he could no longer restrain himself.
The next day, he awoke to find her cheeks flushed, her dark hair disheveled, and the red of her wedding dress in disarray all around them.
She propped herself up on one graceful arm, her dark hair framing red lips and dewy eyes. "You taught me this: if something is worth having, you have to fight for it yourself. I have no jade-faced young lord in my heart. There is only an arhat statue, mighty enough to hold up the heavens."
1. The setting is fictional, built on a Song-dynasty cultural framework, with lots of original worldbuilding that doesn't fully match history and is adjusted to fit the plot.
2. The male lead is brash and straightforward, a rough-hewn warrior monk. The female lead starts out as a delicate young lady, but grows through hardship.
3. One-on-one romance, both leads' first sexual partners, happy ending (really, it will be a happy ending). The characters have different values, which do not represent the author's values.
4. I'm terrible at writing blurbs, so just skim this one...
5. A little ensemble cast, not a wish-fulfillment story, and slow-paced (I'll add more tags if I think of any).
Theme: There is light even in the mire
The writing is awesome, the writing is awesome, the characterization is awesome, in short, it's just awesome, and the feeling of the changing world directly touched my heart.
I didn't know what to cry about, but I couldn't stop crying when I saw the ending of "Mo Li". As the author said, the role of Li is probably the most outstanding. After reading that chapter, I left a deep and long aftertaste, with sadness, regret, happiness, and joy, which can't be calmed down for a long time. Only rich three-dimensional, non-industrial template characters and story experiences can do this, as if I personally accompanied the protagonists and supporting characters through their lives.
I must hate Ding Niang. She is not the best. For her own selfish desires, she can put people to death, and she can also attack Xinu, who is as close as a brother. I cannot forgive her. I will give my brother another one. Her father was really miserable, too. He was so involved that he broke up his family and died. Even though Xinu told her not to get married, he still jumped into the fire pit without hesitation. It can only be said that it was his own fault.
Has the wine been changed? Fake your own death and escape?
"I will update it every day until the end"[]Mrs., What do you think?[][]
Marry low [comparison] Could you please write a few more chapters about Ying Lian and Zong Qi before finishing it? I haven't seen enough yet 🥺
Marry low, marry low, marry low, marry low (raise your hand) When Meng Li entered the palace, two songs suddenly came to mind. One was Jay Chou's Fireworks Easily Cold, which was the feeling of sadness and relief when the dust had settled and the two were separated. There is also a purely musical Moonlight Variation (an interlude from Qin Shi), which gives the feeling of a desolate and vast world where everyone is going their separate ways and the road ahead is uncertain. Anyway, I think we are very close to each other 😳
Damn, what kind of game is this? It's been almost three months 😩
Finished spreading flowers!!! This article is really beautiful. The writing is elegant and clear, and the characters are vivid and cute. You can see the tension between ideals and reality in them. The artistic conception is broad yet subtle. Great support for the author!!!
I like this story very much. I also like Jin Li. I'm looking forward to the next story.
