Plucking Pear Blossoms with the Moon [Metaphysics]

Wei Jiewu is a famous fortune-teller.

Whenever he reads someone's fortune, he gets it right.

He knows the secret behind it all himself (it's just a bunch of tricks to swindle people out of their money =_=), but there's actually someone else who knows too.

It's just that they exist in different dimensions and can't see each other.

That person... is said to be called Chentian.

And apparently, he's someone Wei Jiewu knows.

*

The first time someone inexplicably invited him to read the Four Pillars of Destiny and assess the feng shui of an old house, all Wei Jiewu could think about was how to escape with the money without getting caught.

But when the moment came to reveal his skills, it was as if some unclean thing had possessed him. He spoke with conviction and made it all sound perfectly plausible.

Only later did Wei Jiewu realize that the “unclean thing” that had invaded his consciousness might not be human, or even from the same dimension as him.

On many nights after that, in the middle of the night, Wei Jiewu would reach out absentmindedly across that invisible, impenetrable wall. “Chentian, could I... touch you again?”

Beside his pillow lay a pear blossom picked by that person beneath the moon a thousand years ago. Its leaves had withered, and its branch had dried up, leaving behind only a hint of coldness.

There was nothing at all in the void, only his own choked voice:

“I... miss... you... so much...”

2. A modern supernatural story. This novel takes place in a fictional modern setting, so please don't confuse it with reality. Please reject feudal superstition.
