No one has a twisted mind or an antisocial personality... They're just ordinary people whose humanity has been warped by money, woven into a tangled, secret web of transactions. Everyone keeps quiet for the sake of profit, and anyone who objects is pushed into the abyss and silenced. Like a cancerous sore on the world, it rots in the dark, hidden for decades...
A classic tale of justice: solve the case only after being suspended?
A major anti-corruption saga?
An ensemble cast that really feels like an ensemble, with every character intelligent and capable...
Elite lawyer gong, a brilliant but tragic academic, X rich fourth-generation shou, an arrogant old-fashioned type
Gong is both righteous and morally ambiguous, with the secret identity of a charismatic villain, but is actually an ally of justice. He's meticulous, a high-IQ academic, and full of tall tales. Shou is fourth-generation wealthy, sensitive, a world-class tsundere who says one thing and means another, good-natured and patient, and an ultra-conservative old-fashioned type.
The gong and shou were high school classmates. There's a little angst early on, but plenty of sweetness later. Happy ending, so read without worry.
Theme: What kind of person do you want to become?
