Only after Wu Chun died did she realize that her whole life had been a joke.
Her sect was fake, her name was stolen, and even the debt she owed for being saved was part of a massacre.
Reborn, she severed ties with her "mentor" before he could act and chose another path.
All she had by her side was a mute crow and an old bracelet that always protected her in times of danger.
At her new sect, Wu Chun endured humiliation until her Dao heart shattered. In the end, she turned to the demonic path.
Everyone laughed at her for throwing her life away.
The day Wu Chun fell to the demonic path, all the ghosts wept. In the deepest part of hell, the Lord of the Eighteenth Hells, said to be terrifying beyond measure, bent down to wipe the blood from her face.
On his wrist was an old bracelet identical to Wu Chun's.
From You Shu's perspective:
His family died in a fire, and he and his childhood friend were taken into a sect by a group of people claiming to be on the righteous path.
Their memories were erased, their names changed, and they were given a new life.
Once again, he fell helplessly in love with Wu Chun.
So the two of them practiced swordsmanship and martial arts together, then went down the mountain to explore.
That continued until the so-called righteous path was exposed, and a conspiracy killed Wu Chun.
He escaped the sect, entered the demonic realm, and met the Demon King.
"I want you to guard the Eighteen Levels of Hell for me for the rest of your life."
You Shu agreed without hesitation. In exchange, the Demon King would twist space and let Wu Chun be reborn.
The price was that he would be completely erased from her world, becoming an old bracelet on her wrist that would appear only when she was on the verge of death.
