I almost got to touch the moon,

but at four in the morning,

the sky grew bright.

At four in the morning, I called you, but all I got was "No answer."

"Pei Le, I hope that in your next life you'll find the happiness that should have been yours, free from the torment of this life, and live toward the light."

Hello, dear readers! This is my first story, and it's a total beginner's effort. My writing is awful! Believe it or not, what I imagined before writing this story turned out completely different from what I actually wrote (sob). I'll revise it later. I also talk a lot, and sometimes my brain can't keep up. I'll ramble for a bit, then keep writing and make a few edits along the way.

Feel free to give me suggestions. I'll do my best to improve Four in the Morning (haha). Love you all!

Spoiler alert!!! The new version may differ a little from the old one, with some changes to the characters' personalities and the plot. After a vote by readers, the new version will get a happy ending! Here's to Xiao Jiang and Lele setting off together on a happy journey! Hooray!

Both versions are short stories, very short, and the pacing may feel a little fast.

If you can't handle a tragic ending, read the happy-ending version. The tragic-ending version is very rough, so please don't flame me.
