One day, while secretly visiting Class E to check on things, Rin Karasuma, the adopted daughter of the Karasuma family and an unaffiliated government employee, meets Akabane Karma, who has just returned from his leave of absence. One glance is all it takes for her to fall in love at first sight.
Back home, Rin Karasuma scolds herself for being so shallow, but as they spend more time together, she falls deeper and deeper.
As her feelings grow, Rin can no longer hold back her desire to confess. One afternoon after school, however, Akabane Karma beats her to it.
It turns out that the person who made her heart flutter at first sight had been quietly watching her all along.
And the bond between them had been quietly forged when they were children.
