[A standalone story featuring the secondary couple from Percent Devotion]
Upright, old-fashioned elite man x spoiled, high-maintenance heiress
Earth sign x fire sign
This is already the twentieth time Qin Wanshu has asked for a divorce. As expected, He Yu still refuses.
-
Qin Wanshu was born with the life of a rich heiress laid out before her.
The only daughter of a wealthy family, doted on by her grandfather and cherished by her parents, with two older brothers who treated her like a precious treasure.
Her life should have been free of worries, spent indulged and pampered.
That is, until she married He Yu.
This marriage, which involved no business interests and was her own choice, still did not suit Qin Wanshu.
He Yu treated her well, but was restrained, polite, and even a little cold.
She could not figure out why, and could only conclude that things had started badly between them, while He Yu happened to be a man with an exceptionally strong sense of responsibility and morality.
At her most heartbroken, Qin Wanshu pressed her lips together, glaring at He Yu through her tears as she accused him: "I know our relationship is a stain on your life. You're trying to fix it and make it look better, but it won't work!"
"A one-night stand is a one-night stand. Even if we got married, you can't change that!"
He Yu stopped working and replied calmly, "Isn't a one-night stand still a kind of relationship?"
He looked at her. "As far as I'm concerned, it's enough that feelings were involved."
Qin Wanshu froze, her vision going dark...
Seriously, what kind of thing was that to say? She might as well be talking to a block of wood!!!
-
Qin Wanshu became even more determined to get a divorce. She made a fuss day in and day out until even Grandpa Qin found out.
Seeing that she was serious, He Yu had no choice but to speak openly with her and ask what exactly she was unhappy about.
Qin Wanshu pulled out her memo app, where she had recorded dozens of grievances against him:
1. He always takes more than five minutes to reply, and never sends emojis!
2. He talks like a stiff, serious robot!
3. He never says good night or kisses me before bed!
4. He wears me out in bed so much that I can never get to sleep!
... ...
He knew she was being unreasonable, but He Yu said nothing, listening in silence until she tearfully read one of the complaints.
At last, He Yu interrupted her. His gaze lifted, restrained.
"Before I met you, I never intended to marry."
"It's not like you say, that I married you simply because I happened to need someone to marry."
Qin Wanshu stared at him in a daze. The man who was always so serious and old-fashioned had just said something romantic to her:
"It had to be you, Shushu."

"I, a mountain so still, have been stirred into turmoil for you."
*Marriage first, love later / sweet everyday moments / a little chasing after his wife / happy ending
*Also known as My Wife Has Asked for a Divorce for the 101st Time
*At heart, this is a cute, sweet story. The heroine is clingy and dramatic, so don't read if that's not your thing.
*The final line is quoted from "Jun Bu Jian."
The blurb, title, and cover may change before the story begins.
