Be a Blade of Grass Before Your Grave

A hundred years of war between immortals and demons, and countless souls lost to the underworld.

The Demon Lord died on the battlefield, his body left exposed in the wilderness.

A little grass grew from his body, and so it would repay his kindness.

Qingyu was an ordinary grass seed, the most common kind in the world. By chance, it clung to the Demon Lord's robe and was soaked in his blood, nourished by his corpse. It grew strong amid the rotting flesh and took human form after a hundred years. To repay his kindness, it guarded the Demon Lord's withered tomb for a thousand years.

When the Demon Lord was reborn as a small child, Qingyu had no choice but to exhaust its cultivation, conceal its demonic aura, and hide with him among ordinary folk.

Twenty years passed in the mortal world. The old grudges and new feuds between the immortal and demon realms seemed like fleeting clouds. But Qingyu's magic was weak, while the Demon Lord's demonic consciousness was gradually awakening. War between the divine and demonic realms was on the verge of breaking out.

The gods all say you are heartless and cruel, bloodthirsty, the greatest blight in the world.

But to me, you are a supreme god who has protected my people and kept us safe for generations.

I must repay you.
