Historical romance is a genre I absolutely love. I read some of these as historical workplace stories, while others really make me ship the leads. I also don’t care whether the leads are virgins.
Love and Hate in Historical Romance
An intense tangle of love, desire, and hate between grown men and women. There's hurt and pain, growth and compromise. It's not a conventional one-on-one pairing.
Personal Reading Log, Ongoing
Personal picks.
Worth Staying Up All Night For
Both ongoing and completed stories
Historical Fiction
My favorite historical BG romances
Cool and Aloof Heroines in Historical Romance
I really like cool, composed heroines in period dramas, like Wei Yingluo.
Some Books I Bought and Finished, Mostly Historical Romance
I only love historical romance, and I have very high standards for the writing. My personal tastes include incest between siblings, older men who take the lead and guide their younger partners, nurturing men, and extremely long will-they-won't-they periods. (Four stars are required for this list.)
Wish We'd Met on PoPo
As the title says.
Undeniably Five-Star Historical Romance
I don’t do content warnings.
BG Novels to Revisit
I read everything and have no squicks, though I mostly read historical romance. I like good men, but I like scumbags even more. I'll slowly reread, add reviews, and update the list.
Plan to Read
Some het romance stories I'm really interested in. Bookmarking them and rating them by how interested I am... Going entirely by memory. I've finished some and left reviews.
First-Rate Historical Romance
Strongly recommend buying the complete series. The writing has to be good, with a strong atmosphere and intense romantic tension. Stories about being reborn, winning back a spouse after driving them away, political intrigue, household rivalry, equally matched leads, and so on.
2025 Reading List
I only read BG, and prefer contemporary romance and Chinese historical romance. I rarely read xianxia or transmigration-into-a-book stories. Saving these for my yearly reading list. Sometimes I get a craving for cheesy stories, so please don't judge.
The More Twisted the Love, the More Fascinating
All kinds of rabid-dog male leads, outrageous melodrama, and love tangled up with hate. Not very sweet, but the appeal is the sheer twistedness.
A Collection Worth Revisiting
Books I keep coming back to.

Must-Read Picks Worth Buying in Full
Of course, even finishing a book doesn't necessarily mean I'll recommend it. I'm just that strict.
A Lover of Beautiful Prose and Old-School, Over-the-Top Mary Sue Melodramas
Let's enjoy good stories together! Prose, prose, prose: that's what matters most! Hi everyone, I'm a girl who loves historical romance. I've been reading for 15 years, so let's chat!
Classical Chinese Book Pavilion
Historical romance, transmigration to ancient times, and more
A Record of My Favorite Novels
Immortal cultivation, forced marriage, and male-targeted angst
Full-Subscription Worthy
Good, fun to read, and worth rereading
Decent
For an event. I've basically finished all of these, though I only got halfway through some and already know what happens afterward.

I read it again, one of my favorites
It feels a little strange. The first part is quite normal. I just kept reading from the front. But later on, I don't know why I fell in love to death. I still gritted my teeth and finished reading it. Hmm...
After reading it, I went to search for other things. Why are there so many empty ones? When I think of that half-bald gourd, I feel weak for a moment.
I haven't seen such a complicated story in a long time. The writing style and plot arrangement are really important [please][cat's claw]
As I get older, I still enjoy reading sweet stories, but now I have to wait three or four days to read a BE. . .
I love reading your novels the most! Super awesome!
The ending of this episode is really ridiculous
The writing is good and the plot is a bit incredible.
[Orange candy] I got it [Orange candy] I got it [Orange candy] I got it [Orange candy] I got it [Orange candy] I don't care, this is the ending of the text
The first time I read the novel, I burst into tears...🥹I felt bad because they were not together, but they were clearly in love. Fortunately, the extra chapter rescued Chun and saved Cunzi, which also made me feel a little relieved. I will continue to work hard on the fourth sister's works!
