[Dash! Yonkuro] I Hope You’ll Be Okay

I am a senior reaper. My job isn't to take people's souls, but to guide lost souls to where they belong. So I'm not really like a reaper, but more like a guide. Things have been peaceful lately, and no souls have gone astray. Since I never get time off, you could say I've been given an extra-long vacation. Of course, if I weren't waiting for a soul that was five years late and still hadn't checked in, I'm sure my vacation would be even more wonderful. Those five years are measured by human time. Where I live, in the void, time doesn't exist. Every soul that reports to the Underworld is given a deadline. If they fail to report in time, the Underworld erases their name. Then they become a wandering ghost, dead in the human world but with no place in the Underworld. Wandering ghosts have only two possible fates: either nature purifies them until they vanish without a trace, or they absorb too much yang energy and become vengeful spirits. To prevent there from being too many wandering ghosts, someone like me was assigned to guide them. I can't help it. It's my job and my responsibility, but more than that, I'm doing it for the sake of my vacation. I have to bring back the soul that's five years late. Bring him back, then send him where he belongs.
