Keeping My Head Down as a Beta

[A very short story, born from a sudden idea]

On her first day at an interstellar school, An Chen learned that she was an utterly ordinary beta in an ABO world.

She was assigned to the lowest-tier dormitory. Everyone was a beta, with no pheromones or mental power, so even though all her roommates were male, nothing like what happened in alpha-omega dorms would happen there.

An Chen felt completely at ease and called them her brothers.

Some people dated alphas, hoping to raise their social standing and change their fate. Some shamelessly flirted with alphas and omegas, claiming life was short and they should enjoy themselves while they could. Others studied tirelessly, hoping to become as strong as an alpha.

As someone who had been an ordinary person before transmigrating, An Chen figured she was best at keeping her head down and being a beta.

With just a morning class to earn enough credits to graduate, she went straight into full-on slacker mode. That was what a beta should do.

A sense of despair welled up in An Chen: judging by this reaction, she was probably going to present as a little omega...

The female doctor quietly explained, "It's fine. You're just in a rut. The symptoms aren't very obvious at first."

She was an alpha!

An Chen hadn't even had time to change dorms before her roommates helped her back to their room.

Only the boy who had been sitting quietly in the corner gave her a cold look.
