Lego Ninjago. A slow-burn coming-of-age story with suggestive Mary Sue elements. Please be aware.
Every character I write is someone I love. Even if you insult the author, please don't insult the characters.
As a ninja named Landon Campbell, who has lived with Nya since childhood, Landon thinks he's an ordinary ninja with big dreams. His thoughts sometimes wander, but he's the team's eye candy and brains.
That's how Landon sees himself.
What others think of Landon:
A vine suddenly bursts out of the ground and sends a skeleton flying, kicking up a cloud of dust. Nya looks at the faint green glow in Landon's hand, his smug laughter, and the enemy embedded in the wall.
Nya says: What weird new ability has Landon awakened this time?
Master Wu measures Landon's proportions and makes him a custom dark green ninja suit. Looking at his handiwork, he asks with satisfaction, "How does it look, kid?"
Landon raises a hand. "I have a small suggestion, Master Wu. Could you change the color to something like a maple leaf? Add a few vines with green leaves to the sleeves, green tassels on the belt, and a few four-leaf clover clips on the pants."
"?"
"Can you? Can you? Can you?" Landon gazes at Master Wu with starry eyes.
"..."
Looking at the eye-catching outfit before him and the excitement in the boy's eyes, Master Wu quietly says, "You have a very distinctive sense of style."
At the bar, Kai wears sunglasses and watches Landon show off like a peacock, surrounded by a crowd of beautiful women. A few cross-shaped veins pop on his forehead. He clenches his fists and says quietly, "What an annoying kid."
The sun has just risen. Jay opens the fridge in his pajamas, only to find it completely empty. Landon sits on the couch playing video games, crumbs at the corner of his mouth. The trash can beside him is full of food wrappers. Jay smiles with danger in his eyes. "A big appetite is perfectly normal."
White loses at chess. Across the board, Landon smugly holds the black pieces. Zane stares silently at the white pieces on the table, his calculation system crashing. Nya watches sparks fly from Zane's head and says quietly, "Very clever."
The team can trust Landon without reservation because...
"I'm a genius, you know. Leave it to me!"
In the setting sun, the boy's confident words linger in their ears.
This guy is an idiot who always puts others first, no matter what.
[Someone asks, "When will you set off on your journey?"
Landon says, "Chasing love and light, poetry and distant horizons, is what makes a journey real."]
May freedom and passion never fade. The pursuit of our ideals already shines with brilliance.
