I Give You My Utmost Sincerity

Xu Cheng first met Li Yu in the capital. Li Yu tossed him a shoebox, and it was only when Xu Cheng opened it that he realized the shoes inside were brand-new, even the soles still spotless. Guiltily, he pocketed this windfall. Whenever he recalled that shameful moment, he thought of the handsome boy.

Xu Cheng met Li Yu for the second time in Nanjiang. His daughter, Xu Zihan, was teasing the little dog next door from the balcony. The dog's owner welcomed the Xu family, who had no spare money to keep a dog but loved dogs dearly. Xu Cheng repaid him with a home-cooked dinner.

Xu Cheng met Li Yu for the third time, still in Nanjiang. He learned his name and ate shrimp that Li Yu had peeled for him...

Later, Li Yu wanted to have a bit of fun dating Xu Cheng, but Xu Cheng said he wanted a romance in his twilight years. A romance whose end was visible from the very beginning sounded lovely to him. He wanted to reach the end of his life with love, while still free to choose.

Xu Cheng had once loved passionately too, but when it came time to shoulder his responsibilities, he chose to give himself up and be shattered to pieces.

But Xu Cheng underestimated Li Yu. Li Yu had never lacked love growing up, so he had plenty to share with Xu Cheng...

P.S.: They are not each other's first and only partners. One of the male leads has a daughter who isn't biologically his.
