In the dating show's battlefield of romantic rivalries, Lan Gu is a foil whose only job is to highlight the male lead's delicate beauty and angelic singing voice.
Then, after getting face-slapped by the male lead and his fated love interest a few times, he can bow out and live freely, away from the System.
Unfortunately, not only did the System bind itself to the wrong person (or fish), it also secretly spent all its energy pulling idol trading cards.
After crossing over, Lan Gu's very species was a hundred thousand miles away from what the setting called for.
With his impossibly beautiful face and mermaid talents in his skill list, was he supposed to follow the plot?
Even the System knew that was wishful thinking.
But after hiding in the human world for two years, Lan Gu quietly showed off his makeup skills and voice-changing tricks.
System: !!
It immediately felt there might still be hope of saving the situation.
So Lan Gu kept to himself and rarely went out. After going two months without speaking to anyone in the real world, he was fully prepared to take on the role of the male lead's foil.
But as the main love interest continued to stick by Lan Gu, the System began to have doubts.
Then, when the main love interest chose Lan Gu again, the System suddenly realized, "Host, the plot seems to be going wrong...!"
Realizing things had gone off course, Lan Gu started sneaking around and keeping his distance. But the villa was only so big, and a certain actor who was set to inherit the family business was a brilliant cook and an expert at competing for affection.
In the end, Lan Gu was defeated by fragrant dried fish.
Later, when the actor's background was revealed, viewers saw how different Lan Gu acted before and after rejecting his confession. The two-faced Lan Gu was clearly the very definition of a scheming green tea!
Lu Yunqi must have been an idiot to fall for a plastic-surgery pretty boy who didn't even know basic common sense.
But one day, after Lan Gu went from being called cute to being branded a scheming green tea, he hurt his throat eating the fiery dried fish brought by a new guest on the dating show.
That night, still groggy, he took off his mask in the hospital emergency room.
A face with no makeup, no longer altered by cosmetics, appeared crystal clear on the camera filming him live...
Viewers: "!!!"
Production crew: "?!"
So we were the clowns all along!
