The Interstellar Florist Smells So Good

[The new novel, The Bookish Beauty Is Angry, is now available.] Zhu Ran transmigrates to the interstellar age with nothing to his name. With no other choice, he returns to his old line of work, opening a shop selling flowers and essential oils for aromatherapy. Everyone looks at Zhu Ran’s new shop and asks, “What is this supposed to be?” “What’s a freesia? What kind of plant is that?” “Plant-based aromatherapy? This has to be a scam!” “Let me expose this con artist’s scheme.” But while they wait, Zhu Ran’s shop doesn’t go out of business. Instead, it becomes famous. “I bought the shopkeeper’s freesias, and my crush actually asked me out to dinner.” “This shop is a hidden gem. Two drops of lavender essential oil and my headache disappeared.” “Oh my gosh! Treatment actually made my mental sea injury a little better.” What? It can win over your crush, ease headaches, and treat injuries to your mental sea? Then what are you waiting for? Get over there! * Zhu Ran’s mutated plant ability gives him a naturally sweet scent. He thinks that as long as he’s surrounded by the fragrances of flowers, no one will notice his own scent. It’s just... his customers seem to be getting stranger and stranger. A frosty beauty leans close to Zhu Ran’s ear, voice suggestive. “You smell so good. Can I cuddle up to you?” A sunny, puppy-like celebrity idol suddenly turns red-eyed and acts coquettish. “Big brother, I got hurt when I bumped into something. Can you blow on it for me?” And the gentle, top-tier scientist completely drops his usual persona. “What should I do? I want to hide you away.” In the end, the supreme, cold-blooded ruler of the interstellar world drives everyone else off. The dictator coaxes Zhu Ran in the gentlest voice. “I’m not feeling well. Will you treat me?” Zhu Ran is confused. Why does something feel off? 1. A light, slice-of-life story. Logic is dead. 2. Half plot, half romance. No secondary couples. 3. The protagonist is mildly beloved by everyone. 4. Updates from the scheduled-post folder every night at 9. If you don’t see an update, it’s definitely the folder’s fault. Theme: Embrace nature, and let spring bloom.
