[Frieren] On the Feasibility of Making the Hero Immortal

The cover features evening primrose, photographed by a friend. Updates are currently whenever inspiration strikes. - When you open your eyes again, you find your beloved home engulfed in flames. The overwhelming despair brought by the demons awakens memories of your past life. In this life, you are no longer a frail, short-lived modern human. You are an immortal elf, though a rather unusual one among your kind. The strongest elf in the village, a white-haired one, saves you. You meet a human mage. Unable to learn magic, you set off on a directionless journey. Over a thousand years, you cross mountains and rivers, trek across snowy plains, and witness the countless changing seasons of this land. From time to time, you visit the only person who shares your homeland to catch up. She is always happy to see you. Just as you begin to make a name for yourself as an elf with high magic resistance and close-combat skills, you meet her again. This time, she finally has companions, and they are on their way to defeat the Demon King. Her companions are all wonderful people. You are happy for her, but also a little worried. Even in the distant yet fleeting future, you don't want Frieren to be sad. - A slow burn, mostly daily life, and the Sein/Frieren pairing is non-negotiable. The heroine's name is a phonetic rendering of the German word Zeuge, meaning "witness." Basically, it's the story of a Frieren-only fan who joins a dull but delightful adventure and gradually turns into the ship's biggest supporter (lol). Mostly told in the second person. A writing exercise, novella-length. I fell head over heels for the anime and started writing this on impulse, making my own fanfic to satisfy myself. Since the original is still ongoing, some of this story's background details may differ from the original. My slow-travel crossover, which doesn't merge its settings, "After Drinking the Elixir of Immortality, I Traveled Everywhere to Repay My Debts," is also being serialized. There's already a lot to read! If you're interested, feel free to check it out on my profile. Theme: Go and see the myriad worlds
