Reunion after years apart | Getting back together after a breakup | A bittersweet push and pull
The mistress in title, the wife in attitude | I got here first, so tell him to get lost | Chasing your wife doesn't count as face-slapping
Qin Sui ran into Zhou Cenxu again six years after their breakup, at a matchmaking dinner arranged by their parents.
Only, her matchmaking partner was Zhou Cenxu's younger brother.
The two families chatted and laughed together, while the man she had abruptly dumped years ago sat off to one side, indifferent, not sparing her even a glance.
It was only when someone mentioned that they had attended the same university that Zhou Cenxu finally looked her way. His gaze was cool and distant, as if she were a stranger.
But it lasted only a moment.
He looked away and said in a faint voice, "We're not close."
Qin Sui felt guilty. "Senior Zhou and I went to the same university, but in different years. We really aren't close."
The man across from her gave a quiet, mocking laugh but did not argue.
She had played with him for two years, then walked away without a backward glance. They had no feelings and no commitment. What else could he call it but not being close?

Qin Sui knew Zhou Cenxu had always been proud. She had been the one to end things so cruelly back then, so it was only natural that he resented her.
After all those years, she did her best to avoid him.
But after an accident, Qin Sui had no choice but to ask for his help.
In the pouring rain, the man stood tall and looked down at her. "Miss Qin, what status are you coming to see me in this time?"
Zhou Cenxu was now engaged, and the marriage alliance between her and his younger brother was moving forward. It was truly inappropriate for the two of them, old flames, to keep getting tangled up with each other.
She lowered her eyes, at a loss for what to say.
But the next instant, he suddenly gripped her chin and kissed her without giving her a chance to refuse.
The kiss was passionate and lingering, just like their first love.
When it ended, the man rested his forehead against hers and let out a low, scornful laugh. "You want to play me again."
Qin Sui trembled slightly. "Please, help me..."
Yet Zhou Cenxu's thumb rubbed across her red lips without a trace of tenderness, his eyes icy.
"Qin Sui, what gives you the right to ask me for help?"

Born into a prestigious family, Zhou Cenxu was a promising young man and the group's unspoken heir apparent. Everyone praised his noble character and called him a heaven-blessed talent.
And yet this very man personally stole his younger brother's girlfriend.
That day, the proposal ceremony, planned for a long time, was grand and discreet, but the leading lady never arrived.
In the penthouse presidential suite on the top floor, the bathroom was thick with steam. Qin Sui was trapped in the arms of the once-arrogant man, who laid one burning, lingering kiss after another on the nape of her neck.
The phone on the table kept ringing, but Zhou Cenxu held her tightly by the waist, with no intention of stopping.
He pleaded again and again.
"Suisui, you can play me however you want."
"Don't pay him any attention. You can only look at me."
