The death of the last human, the strongest Esper, marked the end of humanity. Their resistance against the zombie crisis had failed completely, and this world would no longer remember that brilliant civilization.
Li Xiqing calmly stepped into death, only to be found by an intelligent entity called the "System," something he had seen only in novels. Thus, with his youthful body and still-powerful abilities, Li Xiqing became the third prince of the Qi dynasty. The third prince had died in a struggle between factions, and under the System's influence, Li Xiqing fully assumed his identity.
The System hoped Li Xiqing would give Wu Loucen, a young "Chosen One of Fortune," enough help to gain the strength he needed to face his destined fate. Li Xiqing didn't care about this second chance at life. Despair in the apocalypse had long since crushed his passion. Yet someone was going to such lengths to save this "Chosen One of Fortune," who was already sinking into the mire. Why? The thought stirred human feelings in Li Xiqing that he hadn't felt for a long time.
After deliberately delaying for two years and letting the "Chosen One of Fortune" suffer even more, Li Xiqing finally set foot on the flagstones and met him: a pitiful, lifeless creature, filthy and no different from so many people in the apocalypse. Li Xiqing took him away, cleaned him up, and the first thing he did was have a dog collar made...
Wu Loucen was the legitimate-born young prince of Loufan. At twelve, he was caught up in a purge during an internal power struggle. His mother gave her life to get him out of the trap, but he lost his memory by accident. After two years of being passed from one slave trader to another, Wu Loucen was sold into the Qi palace as the lowest-ranking slave in the Hound Pavilion.
He knew he was missing some of his memories. As far back as he could remember, he had been a slave. After four years, he had stopped even having thoughts of his own. He never expected anyone to save him from his misery. He was only a slave, and all of this was how things were supposed to be.
Until one day, a noble visitor came to the Hound Pavilion...
Please note:
This story isn't suitable for readers who are devoted to either character's side. The two are absolutely equal in spirit.
The top is truly cold-hearted and detached. He has no inner energy, but he has a formidable physique and abilities beyond his era. His martial prowess is unmatched.
The original third prince was sickly. Li Xiqing's pulse was faked by the System to satisfy some of the author's special... You know what I mean.
The bottom falls in love first, but his career comes first. If the two come into conflict, he will abandon the top. Once the top falls in love, he will calmly go mad, including but not limited to self-harm.
Neither of them is a good person. They'll do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.
The main characters' views on love don't conform to conventional morality.
Every character has many sides. Please think things through rationally.
This story isn't suitable for readers who are too young in their emotional maturity.
All poems in the story are original unless otherwise noted.
I'm open to writing advice, but hope you'll offer constructive feedback.
Theme: Find what is real amid imperfection
Finally updated (in tears)
Hee hee hee hee color/temptation
Why is it so well written but not so popular? It must be because there are too few authors!
Damn it, was the poem written by the author himself? That's amazing.
