To save up for tuition, Li Nan took a part-time job at a horror-themed hotel.
The interviewer wore mourning clothes. "Are you afraid of ghosts?"
"...No."
"Good. Come in tonight. You get 250 per shift."
Pretending to be a ghost and scaring people seemed like easy money to Li Nan.
That was until he realized he was the only one pretending. The others were real.
Li Nan fled in terror through the hotel, while his coworkers followed him everywhere.
"Don't go!"
"It's been ages since we had a real person here. Stay and play a few more days!"
"Hey! You can't go in there!"
Li Nan couldn't hear a thing. He put his head down and charged ahead.
He ran straight into a "pillar," clutched his nose, and landed hard on his backside.
The "pillar" wore a blue robe and had snow-white hair.
In short, it didn't look human.
A folding fan lifted Li Nan's chin. As Li Nan stared at him like he'd seen a ghost, the man said,
"Once you enter my door, you belong to me."
Li Nan rolled his eyes and finally passed out.
He really was afraid of ghosts.
