The Empress Has a Rather Unusual Style

The thirty-second year of Qianzheng.

Song Wan was born with a willowy waist and irresistible charm. Though the emperor was already old and frail, she entered the palace through the selection, single-mindedly pursuing wealth and status.

Proud of her beauty and always trying to outshine everyone, Song Wan finds herself ostracized in the palace.

Nothing goes her way, from her meals and clothes to every detail of daily life. Having to watch everyone's mood all the time, Song Wan soon starts entertaining some crooked ideas... Her gaze quietly settles on the "cold, immortal" prince rumored to live in the Eastern Palace.

Song Wan uses every trick she can think of, scheming and plotting until she finally gets close to the "immortal prince."

But before she can enjoy it for more than a few days, disaster strikes: the crown prince is suspected of treason and placed under house arrest.

Song Wan: ...

Sobbing in earnest, Song Wan wipes her tears and looks beyond the imperial city. Should she run before she gets dragged down with him?

*

Not long after she flees amid the chaos, Song Wan is caught and brought back. Her eyes dart around as she covers her face and starts wailing. While crying, she thrusts out her belly.

"Your Highness, Your Highness, I already carry your child."

The world hopes he will become a god.

But Xie Ji alone knows that more than ten years before the Buddha, beneath the burning incense, did nothing to make him even a little compassionate.

Later, his seven emotions and six desires are hidden in a single hibiscus flower.

But this flower, so enamored with human wealth and status, wants to run away.

Xie Ji: ...Tsk.
