Identity reveals, amnesia, political intrigue, farming, sweet romance
After putting down a rebellion, Lian Mo, the amnesiac regent of Wei, loses his way and forgets who he is. In a daze, he wanders into a village in the neighboring kingdom of Yongning.
It is a strange village. Some people do nothing but eat and wait to die, choosing to lie flat, while others drill day after day, always ready for battle. They clearly aren't ordinary villagers.
Lian Mo, who can only get by on his looks, meets another man who gets by on his looks: a loafer named Li Jiu.
Li Jiu: "In that case, marry me."
Lian Mo: "???"
Li Jiu: "Or would you rather marry Old Master Yu at the head of the village? The blacksmith Wang next door? The carpenter at the end of the village? Zhao Si, who's keeping watch at the entrance? Or Zhao Wu, who's on night duty?"
Lian Mo: "Why do I have to marry anyone?"
Li Jiu: "Because you have no household registration."
Lian Mo: "Then I might as well marry you."
Li Jiu, satisfied: "Stay with me. The food tastes better."
And so, the beautiful Lian Mo married the loafer Li Jiu.
A year later, Lian Mo returned to the capital of Wei.
As it turned out, he wasn't the only one who had disappeared. The young emperor, who had been held hostage in Yongning, was missing too.
