In high school, Song Ci was the darling of the heavens, living freely and flamboyantly, always the center of attention. Tao Hua seemed to be his complete opposite.
Two people from different worlds unexpectedly shared a brief embrace. Young Master Song fetched water, gave her shoulder massages, and modeled for her, dutifully doing everything without complaint. In the end, Tao Hua dumped him.
On the day they broke up, Tao Hua ignored his pleas and silently colored in her painting, carrying her coldness through to the very end.
They met again when they were graduating college. After giving a speech as an outstanding graduate, Tao Hua was about to leave when a friend shoved a number tag into her hand and pushed her into the venue. Just as she was about to leave, her vision went black, and in the ensuing confusion she was swept into the crowd.
When her vision cleared, Song Ci approached under everyone's gaze. He waved a number tag identical to the one in her hand and smiled without warmth. "What a coincidence, girlfriend."

Tao Hua had thought everything Song Ci did after they reunited was his way of "getting revenge" on her.
After learning what she thought, Song Ci carefully put their marriage certificate in a safe, locking it away together with countless portraits of her that he'd sketched over the years. He gave a soft, mocking laugh.
"Get revenge on you?"
"And then get revenge by marrying you?"
In the heat of their newlywed passion, with scorching warmth behind her, he leaned close and whispered in her ear:
"We agreed we'd get married as soon as we graduated. I remembered."
Only later did she learn that their so-called reunion was the final act of a plan he'd rehearsed countless times.
[The line she'd miswritten in her teenage lyrics notebook, "Let's never be apart again," was corrected by Song Ci over a lifetime: It should be "again," not "apart."]
