The White Moonlight I Replaced Is Back

Everyone knows that a dead woman who's the one that got away is more devastating than one who's still alive.

And my job is to be the stand-in for a disabled, gloomy business tycoon's one that got away.

Because I have the exact same face as his late beloved.

People who saw me climbing the social ladder called me a smug upstart behind my back. I don't think I could have avoided becoming one. Eight years ago, I was hauling cement at a construction site, barely getting enough to eat, bullied and looked down on by everyone.

Then one day, I saw a photo of his beloved on TV, and a bold idea came to me.

I used my perfect replica of her face to deliberately engineer a chance encounter with the tycoon. I won my gamble: he was extremely pleased with my face.

For ten years, he gave me all the affection he had once showered on his beloved. With him backing me, I could have anything I wanted. When I occasionally did something wrong, he would only sigh and indulge me.

I love the life I have now. So what if he doesn't love me? I'm the only one left with this face, after all.

I'm thirty-five this year, and I'm thinking we might as well have a wedding.

The tycoon agrees.

We start making all the arrangements, but one week before the wedding, his late beloved comes back.

The wedding is put on hold, and the tycoon brings his beloved home.

Everyone is waiting to laugh at me. They say a fake could never compare to the real thing.

The tycoon asks me to move out for a while. I don't think I have the right to refuse.

Or maybe I just can't face his eyes, empty of love.

I leave, taking the five hundred million in my account with me. It's fine if I don't have love. I still have money.
