In their first year of high school, two childhood friends begin to drift apart after a transfer student, Wen Liang, arrives. Gan Mi, who is already sensitive by nature, can only keep a constant eye on Pei Han. Beneath his forced smile lies a sorrow he cannot put into words. In this vast, empty maze, Gan Mi wanders alone, trapped by his feelings for Pei Han.

"Hi, what's your name?"

"My name is Gan Mi."

"Gan as in sweet, and Mi as in honey?"

"No."

"Gan as in 'sweet enough to savor,' and Mi as in 'to make amends.'"
