My White Moonlight Suddenly Said She Loved Me

Meng Shan once fell in love with someone.

That person was a friend of her older female cousin.

One day, Meng Shan used a game as an excuse to confess to Yu Xinqiao. Yu Xinqiao rejected her without hesitation. "Sorry, I'm not looking for a relationship."

The next day, after sobering up, Meng Shan refused to give up and asked, "Do you not want a relationship, or do you just not want one with me?"

Yu Xinqiao asked in return, "Aren't we friends?"

After that, Meng Shan buried her youthful crush deep away. Whenever anyone asked about that night, she always brushed it off: "I was drunk. I was just messing around."

Years later, Meng Shan never expected the two of them to meet again, let alone for her to become Yu Xinqiao's neighbor.

Yu Xinqiao was still just as Meng Shan remembered: gentle and beautiful, with a pair of alluring eyes that always held a faint air of distance. But she wasn't exactly the same, either. She would bring an umbrella on rainy days, buy medicine when Meng Shan was sick, and even, one day when someone confessed to Meng Shan, ask, "Are you going to say yes?"

Meng Shan said nothing.

Yu Xinqiao asked again, "Didn't you say you liked me?"

Meng Shan returned the exact words she'd heard eight years ago: "Aren't we friends?"
