Blurb:
(Clueless mess x cold-faced caretaker)
On the first day after Shi Yun broke up with Zhou Zezhong, she felt wonderful, gloriously free, ready to run wild across the open plains!
On the first week after Shi Yun broke up with Zhou Zezhong, she spoke her mind and was happy from head to toe, cursing her nagging ex a hundred times over!
On the first month after Shi Yun broke up with Zhou Zezhong, oh no, she seemed to miss him a little...
At midnight on the one-month anniversary of their breakup, Shi Yun called him on video. Looking at the handsome man on screen, one bare shoulder showing, she could barely restrain herself. “Looks like your bed is missing me.”
Zhou Zezhong turned his cold face toward her and refused. “I’m on my period. Can’t do it.”
Then he unceremoniously hung up...
At one in the morning on the one-month anniversary of their breakup, Shi Yun hurried over to her ex-boyfriend’s place.
First, she used artificial tears to make herself look pitiful and teary-eyed. Then, as if nothing were amiss, she pulled out her key and tried the door, only to discover that he had installed a high-end anti-theft system.
With no other choice, she obediently knocked and asked to be let in.
Zhou Zezhong opened the door, still grumpy from being woken up, his face full of cold indifference. “I don’t want the box outside. Take it if you want it.”
Shi Yun squeezed inside and stared at the man’s lean, well-built waist, crying dramatically. “Don’t worry, I don’t mind if you’ve lost your mojo.”
Zhou Zezhong’s temple throbbed with anger. “I’m pregnant. Can’t do it.”
Shi Yun tackled him to the floor. “Then let me borrow some of your pregnancy luck!”
Upcoming Book
The next book, Will Kittens Cry Too? Please add it to your reading list!
[Sharp-tongued, fussy, troublesome man x unpretentious, quiet, cool-headed woman]
1.
A young master from the capital was exiled to Wutong Lane. The alley was too narrow for cars, so Lan Qi rode a tricycle to pick him up at the entrance.
The young master took one look at the battered tricycle and started complaining. He had a hundred things to say about it.
Lan Qi couldn’t be bothered to listen. She rode off without looking back. By that evening, rumors that she had abandoned her husband and child had spread throughout Wutong Lane.
2.
After the alley’s community family-dispute mediator patiently talked her ear off, Lan Qi brought the young master back home.
The pampered young master was just as troublesome at home. One day he complained that the bed was too hard, the next that the food was too sweet. Or the walls were too thin, or the old man next door had no manners. Every day, he found ten thousand things to nitpick with Lan Qi.
Lan Qi ordered him to shut up.
He obediently shut his mouth. The next day, he handed her a three-thousand-word “Open Letter Condemning Old Man Liu for Violating His Neighbors’ Mental Well-Being by Snoring at Night.” Using sign language, he asked Lan Qi to help him post it on the alley’s public notice board.
Lan Qi told him to get lost.
A letter arrived from the capital: the young master’s life sentence had been commuted to a fixed term, and he could pack his bags and go home.
The young master really did leave.
3.
In the middle of the night, insomniac Lan Qi heard quiet sobbing by the window. She opened it and spotted the young master crouching in the corner with a cat in his arms, his back shaking.
She fell silent for a moment, then asked helplessly, “Why are you crying?”
For once, the young master didn’t make a snide remark. He only said pitifully, “I can’t bear to leave Wutong Lane.”
Lan Qi told him, “No one’s making you leave.”
The young master lifted his head. In the lamplight, two lines of tears slid down his delicate face. “You seem pretty sick of me, though...”
Lan Qi closed the window and went back inside without looking at him. “I never said that.”
Having gotten the answer he wanted, the young master turned off the old radio beside him, which had still been playing to set the mood, hummed a little tune, and tossed his newly opened bottle of eye drops into the trash.
