In the post-apocalyptic era, more than 2,103 years later, pollution is rampant and resources are scarce. Wormhole-traveling spacecraft have been invented, and everyone wants to get off Earth.
At eighteen, the infamous genius soldier Ran Xingheng retired from the Space Force and took over her grandmother's noodle shop. To her surprise, she awakened a talent that let her sense ingredients.
But this talent came at the cost of a mutated sense of taste. Ran Xingheng could no longer make anything edible, and her competitors spread rumors until she had to close the shop. Then an unexpected visitor from space arrived, leaving her already empty wallet burdened with a huge debt.
Ran Xingheng lured the culprit home with a bowl of soup. You're not leaving until you've paid off your debt by working for me!
One day, debt-collection robots surrounded her, leaving her with nowhere to go, not even home.
In the end, Earth proved impossible to stay on. Ran Xingheng traveled through a wormhole to Neils, the planet where her mother had once served on a mission, and opened a restaurant. She started by growing vegetables and pressing oil, and to her surprise, it worked. Wheat grown in water could be ground into flour for flatbread. Chickens could jump higher than rabbits. Garlic was more restless than cats. And the pigtailed swine tasted like beef stewed with radishes, and could even produce yogurt?
She collected new ingredients while developing new recipes.
No one on Earth thought her cooking was good, but her customers on the alien planet absolutely loved it.
However, this planet wasn't as simple as it seemed...
Notes:
- The heroine is strong throughout. There is a male lead, but no storyline where the heroine is strong and the male lead is even stronger.
- This is entirely fictional, so please don't read too much into it. Happy ending.
