Story:
After the war between immortals and demons,
Lu Chen won a certain scroll in the Abyss.
That scroll,
though completely blank, unleashed an immense energy.
Beyond the barrier...
was a world unlike any he had ever seen.
*With just over 190 days until the college entrance exam, a transfer student arrived.
As the class representative, Xu Xingmeng took him to collect his books.
"Is there something wrong with your brain?" Xu Xingmeng asked, as politely and earnestly as she could.
Lu Chen looked at her in disbelief. "You insult me the moment we meet?"
Xu Xingmeng sensibly shut her mouth before she could say something even more obnoxious.
#She could probably come up with an excuse for that#
After all, she wasn't exactly able to stay calm.
The person she'd dreamed about the night before appeared in front of her the next day.
It was a little surreal.
She had no idea when she'd acquired the superpower to pull people out of her dreams.
*And when Xu Xingmeng met him again, she didn't just sit back and do nothing.
Since I still like you, and you don't like anyone else, I'm not going to wait this time.
Demonic energy appearing in an escape room
became the spark that set off a chain of events.
Amid layer upon layer of illusions, he covered her eyes.
"Don't be scared. It's all fake."
The next moment, Xu Xingmeng pulled him close. She stared at him, her eyes turning a bewitching red, while her ears and tail emerged as if some irresistible force had brought them out.
"I'm not scared, Lu Chen. I'm even scarier than they are."
Lu Chen looked at her, then suddenly lowered his head and kissed her.
"You're not scary at all. I'll never be afraid of you."
*Later,
the renewed turmoil made it impossible for Lu Chen to stay here any longer.
By the time he returned, she already knew the truth.
But she couldn't go back.
"I'll leave a mark on your pulse, and it will beat along with you."
"As long as the mark remains, I'll be with you."
"All right."
*On the day of the great battle, the scroll fell into the Demon King's hands. He sacrificed demon after demon without hesitation to break the seal, as if he had gone mad.
But Xu Xingmeng suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Xu Xingmeng: "Hey! If you keep wrecking that barrier, the person you love really won't be able to hold on!"
The Demon King froze. Xu Xingmeng projected an image from the scroll, then, while he stared at it in a daze, kicked him right into the scroll.
Demon King: ...
Gods of the Celestial Realm: …
Demons of the Demon Realm: …
Demons of the Demon Realm: …
The endless stalemate of the battle, which had been raging just moments ago, seemed to freeze in place.
Everyone fell into an eerie silence.
A few seconds later, Lu Chen suddenly laughed, breaking the silence.
"That's my wife for you. She solved a huge problem for me."
*In the peaceful days that followed,
the people of the Celestial Realm and the demons of the Demon Realm noticed that these two heroes kept blurting out phrases they couldn't understand.
Then, little by little, everyone picked it up.
Demons of the Demon Realm: "Lei sik faan zo? (Have you eaten?)"
Immortals of the Celestial Realm: "Aam aam sik baau zo (I just finished eating)."
Watching them carry on their ridiculous conversation in their not-so-great Cantonese, Xu Xingmeng tugged at Lu Chen. "Why don't we go visit Huaxia?"
(This blurb might be changed later, but for now it'll stay as it is.)
Note:
1. They transmigrate, but eventually return to their original world. Both leads have amnesia when they first transmigrate and start their lives from scratch.
2. The leads pursue each other mutually.
3. The beginning is set in the modern world, and the latter part is a xianxia world.
4. Neither lead is a perfect character.
5. There are many original details aside from the major locations, so please don't overanalyze them.
6. There's a little mystery, though the author isn't very good at writing it yet. Suggestions are welcome, but please don't be mean.
