After the Cannibalism Incident, Yokohama entered a brief period of peace. Then one day, a fragment of the Book kept in the Special Division for Unusual Powers silently crumbled to ash.

At the same time, some members of the Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency fell into an inexplicable sleep and could not be woken. As time passed, their numbers continued to grow.

In the IF world, branches that had struggled for the future grew wildly, at last putting forth new shoots.

I dedicate this story to new life, to them, and to all the stray dogs running through the mire.

[Tips]

The main timeline takes place after the Cannibalism Incident, while the IF timeline is set during Akutagawa's collection of "Good, Okay" cards.

My own take on the IF timeline, with mountains of original headcanon. Whether the story is sweet or angsty depends on the author's mood. The ending is happy.
