[Wei-Jin] I'm Claiming the Throne

A son of the Wang clan of Langya excels at investigating the natural world and probing the truth. People of his time find him quite extraordinary.

Wang Ningzhi never imagined he would transmigrate to the Eastern Jin dynasty. He is completely at a loss.

Here's what he knows: his father is Wang Xizhi, the Sage of Calligraphy. His younger brother is Wang Xianzhi, who is paired with their father as one of the "Two Wangs." His whole family consists of great calligraphers and writers, overflowing with talent and literary brilliance. Even his fiancée is Xie Daoyun, famed for her poetic gift.

So how is a born-and-raised STEM guy supposed to survive among a bunch of humanities geniuses? Is there some kind of crash course in poetry and prose?

Solution: Through diligent study, Wang Ningzhi finally becomes a capable scholar in both the arts and sciences.

# Dad, taking pills can kill you! #

# The emperor insists my brother divorce his wife and marry a princess? To hell with that! #

# I'm panicking. My fiancée is a literary genius. What am I supposed to do? #

Here, war rages on every side, and blood and tears flow freely. In the future, an emperor will insist that his brother divorce his wife and marry a princess.

Wang Ningzhi: If that's not reason enough to rebel, what is?

And so Wang Ningzhi begins his grand plan: "Build high walls, stockpile provisions, and claim the throne later."

I don't particularly like this era, but it is full of countless remarkable people. Still, the people suffer far more than they flourish. Through my tears, I glimpse the golden age of another world. I think, since I've already come this far, why not see how much I can accomplish? -- Excerpt from The Diary of Emperor Huagaozu
