A Male Stand-In's Rise to the Top [Gender-Bender]

I have a terrible secret.

Five hundred years ago, a demoness appeared out of nowhere, leaving devastation wherever she went.

Because I looked like her deceased husband, my master gave me a mission: make the demoness fall in love with me, then kill her on our wedding night.

I didn't tell my master that I had genuinely fallen for the demoness, so I decided to betray him.

But the plan succeeded anyway. Before she died, the demoness slashed my face.

She said I wasn't worthy of having the same face as that man.

Only later did I learn that the demoness could never truly die. She had been deceiving me.
