A Sequel to a Dream

Yu Rao lowered her head and scrolled through her phone, thinking that did sound like a pretty good life.

Who could have guessed that, through a twist of fate, she was about to be married off and live exactly that way?

The man was named Shang Xu. He was exceptionally capable and extraordinarily handsome, the heir to Huanyu Zhongheng, the "king of capital." He was practically the favored child of heaven.

Unfortunately, rumors said he was quite the playboy and hardly ever came home. He was also a confirmed bachelor.

Yu Rao thought Shang Xu would resist the arranged marriage. But at their very first meeting, he held out an enormous pink diamond and said, "Marry me."

All he could do was drink. He couldn't answer.

When they got home that night, Yu Rao couldn't help asking, "Why?"

Shang Xu said pitifully, "Because my wife still hasn't fulfilled her marital duties with me!"

Yu Rao furrowed her brows as she tried to make sense of that. "Are you saying your first kiss and your first... are still waiting?"

Shang Xu grinned wickedly and pressed his lips to her ear. "Why don't you find out for yourself?"

"Huh?" Yu Rao froze.

She had no idea that Shang Xu had waited a full eight years for the chance to have her walk into his life.

Later, Yu Rao finally found out.

She asked, "After waiting so long, weren't you afraid I'd turn you down?"

Shang Xu wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck. "If you said no, then no. I'd still do the sort of thing those domineering CEOs do on TV and lock you up."

From the moment she appeared in his sight again, he had never planned to let her go.

Reader's guide:

1. Both leads are sexually inexperienced. The heroine has an ex, but nothing ever came of it. The hero is chaste.
