What to Do When You Get Reincarnated as an Assassin in a Wuxia Novel

Jiang Xun transmigrated.

Other people who transmigrate to ancient times become princesses or legitimate young ladies of noble families, or at the very least get a System to give them a golden finger.

But Jiang Xun transmigrated into the body of an orphan girl with no parents, and was sold to an assassins' guild to become a killer!

An ancient romance turned into a wuxia world in an instant.

Well, so be it. To survive and retire early, she took on job after job until she became the guild's top assassin. After she completed her final assignment, the higher-ups refused to let her go and tried to kill her!

Damn it, this time even the most patient person would lose their temper. In a fit of rage, Jiang Xun slaughtered the guild's higher-ups, thinking she could finally retire for good.

Then she discovered she'd transmigrated into an old-school wuxia romance novel. She was a killer sent by the male lead's enemies to assassinate him, a female supporting character who dies almost as soon as she appears.

The only positive description of her in the original novel came when the heroine saw her corpse:

"The assassin was pierced through the heart by an arrow, and the black cloth covering her face fell away. On her pale, beautiful face was a cinnabar mark between her brows..."

Jiang Xun had been so eager to retire that she quit early, even killing off the guild's higher-ups. Now the original story had only just begun.

Jiang Xun felt that life after retirement was getting more promising by the day. Since she could watch the novel's plot play out in person, she might as well sit back and enjoy the show.

P.S. Old-school vibes, but not a typical wuxia story. I'm hoping to write a lighthearted ensemble cast.

I'm not villainizing the original novel's heroine. I just want to offer two visitors from different worlds a little comfort in a foreign land.
