L is my best friend's younger brother, a thoroughly straightforward guy.
I'm a minor singing blogger who loves all things romantically nihilistic and occasionally shares the love poems I've been reading lately.
He always calls me the "King of Sappy Poems."
I give as good as I get and call him "Wooden Post."
He's ridiculously handsome, and I kind of like him.
So I shamelessly moved into my best friend's house, with every excuse to be there, and successfully infiltrated his inner circle.
Wooden Post is like Fahai reborn. No matter what I do, I can't flirt with him successfully.
But one day, while I was pretending to be asleep,
I heard him whisper in my ear:
"Alles und ich sind absurdes Schweigen, und ich vermisse dich in diesem Moment"
L went to get a glass of water.
I looked out the window.
The early spring chill lingered, yellow-green buds trembling on the branches as tiny flakes of snow fell from the roof tiles.
When I heard footsteps, I closed my eyes again.
That idiot had no idea I'd taken German as an elective in college.
Something warm and damp touched my forehead.
I heard all things growing.
Spring was on its way.
Even the mute wood had blossomed.
