My Dear Child

Just as Xu Huaijing was getting ready to kill himself, he received terrible news: the teacher who had been the only person to treat him kindly had died first, leaving behind an apartment full of old books and a well-behaved, top-performing student he'd sponsored.

...Maybe doing something meaningful before dying wouldn't be so bad.

He decided to save the kid from a life of misery and see him through college first, if you could call a high schooler over six feet tall and built like a tank a kid.

A year later, the kid got into college, just as he'd hoped, and Xu Huaijing was still alive.

But they lost touch anyway. After getting his acceptance letter, the boy was offered his pick of a gift, or even a trip. The usually obedient boy asked for nothing. Instead, he pinned Xu Huaijing against the bookshelf, held his chin, and kissed him fiercely, heedless of everything. Their lips and tongues tangled, and even when he tasted blood from being bitten, he wouldn't let go.

Four years later, a new star emerged in Donggang City's tech scene.

Young, wealthy, handsome, and rebellious, he looked every bit like an untouchable flower on a high peak.

But reporters caught him in a custom-tailored suit, crouching in the rain to tie the shoes of an ordinary man. Loyal and humble, like a big dog.
