A Noble Consort's Daily Complaints (Qing Dynasty Transmigration)

I've discussed the V date with my editor: January 17, Wednesday. Please support the novel. Other people transmigrate to the Qing dynasty, enter the palace, fight for favor, and work hard to become the Empress Dowager. Baoyin's transmigration story absolutely will not take her to the capital. She'll stay in her hometown and enjoy retirement. Outside Shengjing, the emperor passes by on his winter inspection and points at the rice fields. "Banner people aren't good at farming. How did you think to grow crops here?" [Don't ask. The answer is that my ancestors' farming instincts kicked in. I saw this fertile land lying fallow and couldn't stop myself from sowing vegetable seeds.] Baoyin smiles. "I just wanted to give it a try. It wasn't my doing, really. The people working under me took good care of it." In the capital, the emperor shows mercy and allows overage women who entered the selection in previous years to take part in this year's imperial consort selection. [If I don't want to get married in the modern world, with its one-man-one-woman system, why would I want to in ancient times, where men have wives and concubines?] Baoyin turns around and inoculates herself against smallpox. Her little face pale, she says to the imperial physician who arrives, "I must have no good fortune. I've caught smallpox. Boohoo, am I going to die?" [Just hurry up and reject me!] Kangxi smiles inscrutably. "Keep her on the list." My completed novel, A History Roundup, Starting with Zhu Di Eating Pig Shit, is ready for you to binge! A content warning: This is definitely not a romance-driven story. The heroine has been putting on an act the whole time, while the emperor is somewhat taken with her. He doesn't stop her from doing what she wants, and if he judges it beneficial, he lets her do it. There are clues if you look back. The heroine has more inner monologue at the beginning, then later starts to suspect things. Her thoughts are mostly tests. I started writing this with the goal of opposing the Qing. What kind of person would an emperor not suspect? Someone whose thoughts he can hear, who is useful to him, and whose every move he can keep track of. This emperor is the kind of man who'd turn on his own son and depose him. Is affection more important than trust? The emperor can only feel secure with someone whose every thought he knows. I don't know what kind of rose-colored glasses you'd need to think the heroine loves the emperor. Later, the emperor confines her after discovering that she's developing power overseas and is becoming somewhat difficult to control. Please don't look at this through rose-colored glasses!!
