The Tianyan Sect, which had stood for six thousand years, crumbled and vanished while Ye Lanning was in seclusion.
As the Sword Venerable of Tianyan, she stepped forward and returned to five hundred years in the past to find the turning point: the future Demon Venerable had joined Tianyan Sect, but was relegated to the outer sect because of his constitution. That was where the traitor's scheme began.
At this point, the Demon Venerable was just a novice at the fourth stage of Qi Refining. Whether to kill him or spare him was entirely up to her.
Ye Lanning drew her sword without hesitation, but instead of striking, she took him as her disciple and kept him by her side. Her young disciple thought this was an immense kindness, unaware that she was merely using him as bait to lure the traitor out.
This time, she ventured into secret realms again, personally taught her disciple, accepted challenges from sword cultivators, replaced the sect leader, reshaped the spirit meridians, and restored Tianyan Sect's prestige.

Su Monan had traveled alone for hundreds of years, fighting the Heavenly Dao and slaying demigods without ever bowing his head. In the end, he still could not defy fate. He committed a terrible crime and brought unrest to the Three Realms. All he could do was die alongside the mastermind and atone with his life.
Who could have known that he would return to five hundred years earlier, when he was still a talented alchemy disciple, though his luck had deserted him? Then he met that person, who gave him a chance to atone and fulfill his wish.
They said the Sword Venerable cultivated the Heartless Dao and had no regard for human feelings. He thought she was a person of great feeling and righteousness who deserved the admiration of all.
Later:
Ye Lanning: I used you in every way, yet you have no complaints. How strange.
Su Monan (smiling stubbornly): I can never repay your kindness for recognizing my talent. Don't even think you can get rid of me.
Theme: Stay true to what your heart desires, and life will be colorful
