Synopsis
Jiang Meiyu transmigrates into a male-led cultivation novel as a villainous demoness.
In the novel, the male lead overcomes countless hardships, sweeps across the Nine Provinces, becomes a Sword Venerable, and eventually achieves immortality.
She, meanwhile, has transmigrated into the greatest obstacle on his path to proving his Dao in the first half of his life.
The System gives her a simple mission:
She has to seduce him, tempt him into corruption, torment him, and destroy his Dao heart.
She must oppose him at every turn, until he kills her to prove his Dao.
She does as instructed, insulting him, humiliating him, sleeping with him, then kicking him away.
At last, the day comes for her to exit the story. But the male lead, who has always silently endured everything and stood up for the righteous path, does not plunge his sword into her chest.
He seals her cultivation and holds her captive in his arms, whispering in her ear:
"Meiniang, I can't bear to lose you."
Only after he imprisons her by the cold pool does she realize:
She's doomed. It seems she really did torment the righteous male lead into becoming a villain.
*
Shen Jiekong's first half of life was filled with hardship.
His parents abandoned him, he was sold into slavery, his fellow disciples treated him with contempt, and even his master coveted his rare sword bones.
He believed all the suffering and setbacks were trials Heaven had arranged to temper his Dao heart. He would grip his sword tightly and overcome every trial to reach the peak of the sword path.
But everything seemed to change when he met that demoness.
She was capricious and cruel, taking pleasure in humiliating him. She deceived him with sweet words, body and soul, then heartlessly abandoned him.
After she fell to the demonic path, he should have killed her, but in the end, he couldn't bring himself to do it.
And so, the sword he had once sworn to use to slay every demon in the world shattered inch by inch in his hands, scattering on the long wind.
At last, his Meiniang belonged to him, completely and utterly.
