The Dao of Heaven Sees Nothing

Chinese-style Cthulhu cultivation, filled with all kinds of folk legends and bizarre tales. A little dark in taste.

A blind, deranged Chosen Evil God gong VS a laid-back, straightforward hidden powerhouse shou

Fu Jiansheng is unlucky.

Abandoned, betrayed, repaid for kindness with treachery,

stabbed through the heart and made a stepping stone for the person he loved to ascend the path to immortality.

The Heavenly Dao is merciless, the strong prey on the weak, all propriety has collapsed, and cultivation grows ever more difficult.

As he cultivates...

The friend who betrayed him comes back: I never wanted to do it back then. Just hear me out!

The young man who repaid his kindness with treachery comes back: You're mine dead or alive!

The person he loves is, well, still the same: Anyone who unsettles my Dao heart dies!

The person he loves: ...Why can't I beat him?

Even the laid-back sect he joined turns out to have a remarkable background.

He also meets a blind man.

Though not only is he blind, he's also deranged,

with a talent for going spectacularly insane and a fondness for slaughter.

Ji Zhong is a sacrificial offering of the Great Zhou royal family, meant to beg the Heavenly Dao for protection and eternal life.

The Heavenly Dao took his eyes, but before his mother died, she named him "Xiguang," meaning "cherish the light."

All living beings are in hell, and I have never cultivated a good deed in my life.

Yet, somehow, a beam of clear light falls upon him.

Licking honey from a blade, gathering chestnuts from a fire, unwilling, yet with no choice.

Ji Zhong: To show you how much I love you, I've decided to die with you in my arms.

Jiansheng: ...That won't be necessary.

Jiansheng: I'll make sure you live well with me.

[Reader's Guide]

1. A Lovecraftian cultivation novel, low magic and high martial arts, with a mountain of original worldbuilding and a touch of Chinese folk horror.

2. Plot-driven, with the romance developing alongside the story. A somewhat slow burn.

3. Uses the cultivation stages of Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Deity Transformation, and Tribulation Transcendence and Ascension. Each stage has early, middle, late, and great consummation levels. There is no spiritual root system.

4. Some elements are inspired by Daoist Weird Immortal. A tribute to the greats of Qidian!

5. I clicked around on this character sheet without knowing how to use it, so please ignore it.

When Zhao Yuanqiao returned to S City, everyone was waiting to laugh at this Beta.

After all, Song Shijing had just announced his marriage to the public. His partner was the Fang family's most cherished youngest son, a top-tier Omega whose pheromones were an exceptional match for his.

Just after Zhao Yuanqiao walked out of the airport, he saw a young Alpha waiting for him, with curly hair, dimples, and bright eyes when he smiled.

Zhao Yuanqiao: ...Who are you?

Meng Xing: I've been waiting ages. It's okay if you don't remember me. Come on, Brother Yuanqiao.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't connect the cheerful, openhearted young man in front of him

with the pale, gloomy illegitimate son of the Song family, who had always watched him in silence.

Of course, he had no idea that Meng Xing really had been waiting for him for a long time.

This had been planned for ages. He'd spare no cost and stop at nothing.

Theme: The Heavenly Dao follows its own course. Human affairs may delay it, but it will never fail to arrive.
